I began getting curious about some swords and such things, so i began looking into it. i found some very interesting things, even a few swords that could word for the reward for killing the emperor (mission 1k).
here are a few i have found:
Honjo Masamune (reason for choosing- had been passed down from one Shogun to another. It is one of the best known of the swords created by Masamune and is believed to be one of the finest Japanese swords ever made. - thought that would fit for the emperor)
Ishikiri (Stonecutter)
Kabutowari (Helmetcutter)
do these sound good for new weapons that could be added to the game?

i have an interest in swordsmiths and blades, primarily those in japanse history, but not limited to, and i would have no objections to being able to collect any of those lovely blades

While i was looking at different weapons, i couldnt find very many, hopefully if more weapons do get added you will be able to help suggest more weapons that could be rewards.
i read your post in the other thread and now im getting interested in these legendary swords. Looking for more that could be add to the game.

i have some ideas about special abilities certain swords could have also, so that they wouldn't all need to be SUPER badass in the stat department in every instance
a weaker sword with certain capabilities would appeal to some ninjas over the ones that simply have the highest stats
also, since we are discussing having weapons and armor be upgradable anyway,
who would want to collect a variety of swords when they will be focusing all their xp into the one they are building up? i still might, and a few others, just because building the collection might be fun.
it would be more interesting if these "special" weapons being dropped (and unattainable any other way, other than trading/buying it from another player once trade is added)
by those monsters/demons had unique abilities, or different levels of power in the new abilities each.
that way, each sword would still retain value separate from the others you collect, and could be built up with xp separately, to be used in different situations.
some players would have a variety of swords they switch between, or prefer a few over others.
other players would pick one weapon to specialize in, and "master" it, focusing all their xp on that one weapon.
so it would make the weapons more interesting, more valuable, more useful, AND add options for players to have a more customized feel to thier character.
i am always for customization options in any game i play, i like to feel as if the avatar i am using in the game is a form of me, or who i wish to be in the game, and anything that allows me to choose between options promotes that feeling.
and since many players WOULD prefer one type over another, it would prompt trading with the new trade/give system coming,
and i for one, with my upcoming merc service, would be willing to obtain weapons for others, at a hefty price of course, so i know it would boost my personal economic interests as well as any trade that might occur amongst other players

Hahaha, wow, your a genius when it comes to this game i tell ya hash. And im sure you will spend some time in the next couple of days for those unique abilities as well.
these special abilities would be nice, maybe an abilities like a constant increase in health, just a small amount though, like 2k or so every minute or something.

i've got about a half dozen ideas for possible abilities half formed in my head, yes.
i need to write it all down, and give some thought to the game mechanics and balance, and materialize the ideas into something more chrysalized, and then i will post'em all up
i also want to try and take the time to match the abilities with swords in an appropriate way, so the power matches the legend as best as i can manage.
the health idea is good.
you would have to be careful wielding it though, because if i kill you, and you go offline, that sword would "auto-resurrect" you, and i could kill you again.......all night long

a good sword, but i'd recommend you un-equip it when you go offline!

wouldn't matter if they were strong or not, because you would be brought back to life with 2000 life in your example, and if you "hunt" someone out of the shadows, it nullifies the 15 minute deathclock
you would be stuck in the same spot, coming back to life once a minute per your example with 2000 hp......
i could rack up some kills on suckers that way!!!!!

Ah yes, I suggested a few swords back when items first started.
Grasscutter was one of my favorites.
I think speacial abilities for these one of a kind swords would be great, they would make them worth more than xp, if they are balanced right.(this would be important to the trading system, and would increase the in game economy 1000 fold)

i and a good friend of mine will be working on a propsed weapon/ability list for the next few days, and we hope to have a thread up sometime this week.
what about stat abilities? as has been brought up before? like +/- 1 % stat boost (or decrease)
i.e.
<Enter great name for sword>
+5% max ATT
-2% total DEF
+2% lvl (for hp gain)
DP 123456789/1234567890
but again, i could be thinking about the wrong abilities >;-)

nope!
i remember that being brought up before, and it will be represented among other possible abilities. (with actual weapons named and with stats using the same general format)

hard at work designing new abilities and coming up with weapons to match them to
if anyone has ideas, suggestions or requests for favorite weapons;
drop a line, and we will give them some thought and see if it can make it into the proposed list of possibles
it would help if you give some description of the weapon for us to work with

been a little busy trying to set up a new clan, but this is still #2 on our priority list
we really would like to see a nice new armory available to everyone

This thread needs new life! I think a sword with an Xp gain on it should be added too. And it can be variable when it drops, say between 5% and 10%. You could add variable percentage gains to other abilities as well like how fast Ep regenerates or a boost to one or even all stats and you would be able to stack them since there are two items that can be equiped (weapon and armor). Also what does everyone think about being able to equip more than just those two items? There could be other items that can be added (like clothing of sorts, or jewelry) that would fit with the story line and chacter and give you some of these added abilities. I would like to see a percent chance to score a critical hit too. Critical hit meaning that when it works or happens it would do a much larger amount of damage, say X100 what it would normally calculate.

Agreed, but maybe have these new accessories, have the bonuses on them, with maybe a couple more slots for them, like 2 or 3 could be equipped at a time.

or we can have equipment for different parts of the body; legs, torso, and head. Dual weapons would be pretty interesting as well.

I like how you are thinking 9. That was where I was heading with this too. It wouldn't be to hard to add more than one slot. We could have boots, belt, head, torso (would be armor) and then two weapon slots that could either have a standard sword that would require two hands or smaller one handed weapons (such as sai or possibly nunchaku, nun chucks) that could be dual weilded.

lol, dual nunchaku...that would be insane, like Bruce Lee. only thing is...some weapons that are larger could be dual wielded, just typically arent. like katanas and such. What would we do in that situation?

Have two versions, a two handed one that is more powerful that a regular one, and a one handed "regular" one.

Well with dual wielding 2 handed vs 1 handed you could make being able to 1 hand wield a 2 hand weapon by allowed if you meet a certain attack level. Requirement could be around 300k min/max and for a legendary weapon maybe 500k. Also you could only have one of eace legendary weapon, but that wouldn't stop you from having 1 in each hand.

Think about it, all the weapons/items there already are are just bits of info with parameters. I would imagine it's just a matter of having time to add a new name with a new set of min/max stats.

Alright i have a couple ideas for weapons. I think that a good weapon idea is maybe to get a couple types of bows and either have the arrows in the second weapin slot that was talked about before or have a seperate arrow slot. Also we could use the arrows that are currently items for the bows like the metal tip arrow the wooden tip arrow and the poison arrow. It would also be cool if the poison arrow actually poisoned the enemy and did a certain amount of damage every minute, but the poison would only last so long. Also for the bows they could have different power levels that could multiply the arrows strength X2 or X3 or something like that. Plus we can keep the strength of the arrows at where tney are at right now or maybe we could change them, but still have a variety of strengths in arrows. Also when we find bows while doing missions we could find them in sets like 5, 10, or 20 arrows when you find them.

Ok, but that sounds a lot like throwable items. Are you maybe thinking of getting a bonus for the bow that fires it?
We could do something like that by adding proficiencies to attacks. This would add depth to the game by making it so that you could choose what weapon you fight with.

A ninja using animals? What are you getting at it? A ninja is a single hidden assassin. They have many tricks they employ to achieve their goal, but I have never heard of an animal being one of them.

I would totally get the turtle, lol.
But i wouldnt understand the point in pets either, it would have to be like a monkey, or something that is quite and could easily keep up with the ninja, not restraining him. Good idea overall though.
(little side note, i have noticed as time as gone on, my posts are getting better. i laughed at the pointlessness and vagueness of my previous posts on this thread.)

That's true but assassins are known to use animals to gather infomation. Like carrying pigeons and monkeys.

Well sometimes there are windows too small for normal people to fit into. So they train monkeys to climb up into the window and try to unlock the door. I saw it on history channel years ago. I don't know if that implies to ninjas though. It was just spies and lone assassins.

obviously you are. Well a tiger was used as a stealthy cat that could also kill. There was said to be over 50 successful kills and one unsuccessful. that one was his death. the snake was used to get in places that other animals and ninjas could not fit into. The snake would bite the enemy and poison them to death. I do not know how many kills there were.

hmm, like the animals doing that. oh, good idea! rat, you get more yen. Dragon can increase health for example, or maybe exp. stuff like that. that sound cool? and then they can have other added stats as well.
we can definitely evolve this more into the game, having them be rewards for defeating the bosses in each area, and those pets/rewards would have extra bonuses then just the ones you can buy. of course things can be changed and added to that idea.
yeah, that would be nice.

hmm i think that u should b able to give it xp to lvl it up although it would get harder to lvl up. and mayb we can have them so they dont have deffence or attack but they would have abilities like u said. like a chameleon or something can increase ur hiding time and the rat could make it so that u more often find valuble items when doing missions like armor. and the more u lvled them up the better they get at those abilities.
