alright, i've been talking about this for ages now, and it's time i just make a thread for it.
i want to be able to trade/give items and yen with other players
the primary reasoning for this is twofold
#1: we could give away items to weaker, newer players or to a clanmate in desperate need of aid
#2: we could "charge" for our services as a merc would, killing or taking territory or defending an area/player or what have you, in exchange for an agreed upon bounty or service contract
a long time ago a few friends and i had been all set to run a merc service, but the ability to get paid never materialized.....most of those players have left the game at this point, however i am still interested in being a blade for hire on occasion, and i know there are plenty of players that would happily give junk health items and such to new players to help them get started
i don't see any downside to adding this, and it would make things a bit more interesting in my opinion

Off the top of my head, i don't see any truly bad affects this could have on the game.
and hiring ninjas would be a unique thing to have, so im going to support you on this one hash.

the trade things has been discussed before and generally found to be a good idea so I don't mind putting it in.
Lets see if someone thinks otherwise ...
One thing I have to say is that it will change the game dynamics a little, noobs with powerful friends will rise quickly so the game will be more about networking. which is not all that bad of a thing ...

true, but let's be honest, that already is true gyrui......a ninja with one powerful friend can gain more power in ten minutes than i gained in my first few months here.....it's just the way things have gone......
and i've said a hundred times before that ignoring the social side of the game is not especially wise....in my mind, DN is sort of like a chat room that let's me kill people
XD
networking is already a crucial part of the game, and increasing it's value doesn't seem like a bad move to me
at best it will be more fun, and at worst it will exascorbate an already existing condition
*shrug*
i don't see how it could cause any serious harm

Oh, yeah.
If a ninja has a strong friend, they can become an elite, or at least a mid-level ninja in a few days.
I don't see any way this could do any harm, and I REALLY like the idea of being hired to help other ninja.

hmm hmm
as mentioned, i had a whole clan of ninjas ready to go with this back in, oh, feb. i think,
and i'd happily run a clan of for hire mercs still today.

With the stuff about helping other ninjas, im not a very high level and i have gotten two or three people within the top 50 in just a couple days.

i should mention that it is CRUCIAL to this idea that we be able to input the # of yen/items we wish to trade.......
if i have to trade one million yen, one yen at a time................
or 1700 at a time like we build levels.......
the whole concept goes in the crapper!!!
XD

I agree, if it is slow then this won't work.

can we also PLEASE sell ALL items, not just the gear we can equip?
all those health items and throwable weapons and scrolls and so on don't do anything for me, but i wouldn't mind being able to sell them for yen and use the money for something useful....i have never understood why we can't sell those.

I just haven't added the code to do it. I'll put it on my list.

LOL yes ... one other aspect would be that you can hire people to do your dirty work.
Again ... DN is the only web based game (that I know of anyways) where social interaction is the key so anything to make that better is a must.

haha, selling normal items would be super helpful when it comes to building up a large amount of yen. would make it a little easier to meet your price for the demon too hash, lol.

that has been my intent since about the second month i started playing
i intend to run a full service mercernary service
my employees and i shall refuse no job of any kind, so long as my demanded price is met
need someone killed? wanna take someone's land?
need a body guard? wanna train with the masters?
anything you can think of, we will do for the right price..........
i've been waiting for a long time for the ability to get paid for my services, and i am extremely excited that this is finally on its way.........
this will radically change the way i approach the game and the notion of clans and territory.
i am more vigorously enthused about this addition to the game than i have been in a very long time!
gyuri my friend.......your are the man!!!!
thanks a million brother!

Oh yes, I do believe that this is what I've been looking for.
This will have me as active in the game as i was back when I first got hooked.(about 80 hours a week in game)
I will work my butt of again, and that is what I truely want.

i'm saddened to know that less than 24 hours of being open, and showing great potential for success, my business that was months in the planning, and took TONS of work to get going is now CLOSED
my staff and i shall be moving on to find a new game to set ourselves up in
it may be months more work to begin anew, but hell, i was already the undisputed god of DN........it might be time for a new challenge anyway......this business was the only thing that kept myeslf and several other players interested
it is dead now, and so are we
new horizons await when we re-incarnate!
thanks for all of your interest in support in doing business with us!
we would have made waves!
now we recede with the tide.............
